Welcome to St Mary’s Primary School
We've all enjoyed a busy day at the beach, eaten plenty of dinner and enjoyed smores on the campfire ... soon setting off on our bat walk!

KS1 and EYFS celebrated Liberation Day earlier this week. We are very grateful to Mrs Jones and her family who shared family diary entries, stories and newspapers from the occupation and Liberation with us. We also decorated biscuits with the Jersey flag, played some 1940s games and even had a go at some 1940a style dancing!

What an amazing show. Well done everyone! The children were fantastic and the audience were supportive and warm! We've had some amazing feedback about how the children told the story. Mr Ward, the Education Minister and Mr Macrae, the Deputy Bailiff had a wonderful time. I've not heard when it's going to be on the BBC, and I'll let you know as soon as I do! There's so much for everyone to be proud of. Good luck to La Moye School for their performances tonight and tomorrow.
We had an amazing dress rehearsal with Years 3 and 4 and children from Bel Royal and St Peter's Schools. We are all ready for this evening's show. A brilliant way to kick off Liberation Week!
Make Do and Mend! We are set up in the Arts Centre - all ready for our actors tomorrow morning, and for our schools audience tomorrow afternoon . We have pretty much a full house tomorrow evening! It's all very exciting. Years 5 &. 6 and the choir have worked so hard on this - and have learned so much about the Occupation and Liberation of Jersey 1940-1945.
This week KS1 and EYFS were visited by local author Penny Byrne. She answered all our questions about life as an author as well as reading us some of her books.
And... Pétanque is back! Thank you, Richard Sowerby!
It's due to be very warm and sunny today. Don't forget to Slip-Slop-Slap!
What a glorious day for a school residential! Today we were resilient, supportive and inclusive. We tackled the crate stack and keep of faith, working together to succeed. Everyone was amazing. We are preparing dinner before the camp fire and smores. Nurture Inspire Achieve
Hetty from the Arts Centre has been working with Year 6 on their understanding of the Occupation. This group are freeze framing the bombing of the island in 1940.
