Enrichment Activities

We would like to make you aware of the clubs starting this term. They will all be starting after the October half term break, unless otherwise stated:

Football – Years 4, 5 and 6

Teacher:          Miss Rogers

Friday 3.15-4.15pm

Football training takes place on the field. If it is too wet, we will train in the hall, so please still bring your kit. We will play matches regularly; letters will go out with before each match.

EcoActive – Key Stage 2

Teacher:          Mrs Le Moignan

1 meeting per-half term

This is a club for children who want to develop our environment. We will be looking at our community and deciding how we can make it the best it can be.

Signing Choir– Key Stage 2

Teacher:          Mrs Jordas

Wednesday 3-4pm

Mrs Jordas is keen to share her love of Sign Language with a new generation of signers. We have lots of opportunities to go out in the community and entertain people.

Coding Club – Years 1 & 2

Teacher:          Mrs Harber

Thursday 12:30-1pm     Spring and Summer Term

In Coding Club, we will be creating our own instructions on technology to make things happen! We will be helping bee bots to navigate through mazes and giving Dino the Dinosaur instructions to follow the path home

Forest School – Year 1

Teacher:          Mrs Hill

Thursday – After school

Within Forest School club at St Mary’s we learn about the environment and complete a range of different activities including collecting and art activities with KS1 and sawing and fire making with KS2. Currently I am offering Forest School Club to Year 1 but it will be offered to many different classes throughout the school year.

Netball – Year 5 and 6

Teacher:          Miss Rogers and Miss Banks

Tuesday 12.30pm – 1pm

Netball club will be taking place in the Community Centre, so come rain or shine we will be playing! We will have matches to play against other schools.

Chess Club –  Key Stage 2

Teacher:          Mrs Smith

Friday 12:00-12:30pm

Chess is a brilliant game that is great for getting you thinking. The club is open to both beginners and more experienced players.

Gardening Club – Years 2 & 3

Teacher:          Mrs Le Moignan

Starting in Spring Term

We are very lucky to have a beautiful garden at St Mary’s. When Spring comes, I will be taking a club to take care of the plants we have and plant new and interesting things.

Running Club – Key Stages 1 & 2

Teacher:          Ms Betts and Mrs Jones

What a way to start your day! We will be challenging ourselves to see how far we can run; getting fit and being ready for our learning.

Craft Club – Years 5 and 6

Teacher:          Mrs North

Monday 3:15-4:15

This is a great opportunity to be creative and ‘craftsy’. Mrs North has a whole load of arty projects in mind!

Recorder Club – Year 3

Teacher:          Mrs Atkey-Smith

Tuesday 12:00-12:30pm

Have you longed to play an instrument? Mrs Atkey-Smith is running Recorder Club for any Year 3s who want to develop their musicality.

Singing Together – Years 2 and 3

Teacher:          Mrs Le Brun

Thursday 12:00-12:30pm

If you love singing, this club is for you. Mrs Le Brun will be teaching the children light hearted songs – the emphasis is on having fun and singing your heart out!

Choir – Years 4, 5 and 6

Teacher:          Mrs Le Brun

Thursday 12:30-13:00

If you love singing, and you are ready to represent the school, then this club is for you! Mrs Le Brun will be teaching all sorts of new songs, and the choir will go out and about in the community to entertain!

Jerriais – Years 4, 5 and 6

Teacher:          Mrs Sargent

Thursday 12:30-13:00

Jerriais is Jersey’s national language – if you’d like to challenge yourself and have great fun Jerriais the way to do it.
